= Welcome to the ANUGA Hydrodynamic Inundation Modelling Project (Powered by Subversion and Trac) = Geoscience Australia and the Australian National University are developing a hydrodynamic inundation modelling tool called ANUGA to help simulate the impact of hydrological hazards. The core of ANUGA is a fluid dynamics module, which is based on a finite-volume method for solving the Shallow Water Wave Equation. The study area is represented by a mesh of triangular cells. By solving the governing equation within each cell, water depth and horizontal momentum are tracked over time. A major capability of ANUGA is that it can model the process of wetting and drying as water enters and leaves an area. This means that it is suitable for simulating water flow onto a beach or dry land and around structures such as buildings. ANUGA is also capable of modelling hydraulic jumps due to the ability of the finite-volume method to accommodate discontinuities in the solution. To set up a particular scenario the user specifies the geometry (bathymetry and topography), the initial water level (stage), boundary conditions such as tide or output from another model, and any forcing terms that may drive the system such as gravity, wind stress, rainfall or inflow from a hydrograph. ANUGA is written in the object-oriented programming language Python and has been released as Open Source software at http://sourceforge.net/projects/anuga. See http://datamining.anu.edu.au/~ole/anuga/user_manual/anuga_user_manual.pdf for more background on ANUGA. == Breaking News (August 2008) == This is the Main Wiki Page for the ANUGA Software Development Project. ||'''ANUGA Workshop 16-17 September 2008''' || SecondAnugaMeeting ||'''Latest ANUGA released'''|| {{{ #!html }}} See TracWiki for details on how to create wiki pages. == Work Pages == ||'''Pages with minutes and action items from ANUGA related meetings''' ||[MeetingMinutes Meetings & Workshops] ||'''Planning for the Tsunami Risk Modelling Activity''' ||[PlanningProcess Planning] ||'''Active tickets (newest first)''' ||report:14 ||'''Notes''' ||WorkNotes == Links == ||'''Software Repository (Subversion)''' ||https://datamining.anu.edu.au/svn/ga ||'''GA Inundation Modelling Project home''' ||http://www.ga.gov.au/urban/projects/ramp/inundation.jsp ||'''TRAC project management site (this page)''' ||https://datamining.anu.edu.au/anuga {{{ #!html }}} == Documentation (updated hourly from the repository) == ||'''ANUGA user manual''' ||http://datamining.anu.edu.au/~ole/anuga/user_manual/anuga_user_manual.pdf || ||'''ANUGA installation guide''' ||http://datamining.anu.edu.au/~ole/anuga/user_manual/anuga_installation_guide.pdf || ||'''ANUGA release notes''' ||http://datamining.anu.edu.au/~ole/anuga/user_manual/anuga_whats_new.pdf || ||'''ANUGA requirements document''' ||http://datamining.anu.edu.au/~ole/anuga/requirements/anuga_API_requirements.pdf == Publications == ||'''Hydrodynamic Modelling of Coastal Inundation, Modsim 2005''' ||http://www.ga.gov.au/servlet/BigObjFileManager?bigobjid=GA7981 http://www.mssanz.org.au/modsim05/papers/nielsen.pdf ||'''Water Flow Software, Open to all (page 8), AUSGEO News September 2004''' || http://www.ga.gov.au/ausgeonews/archive/200410.jsp ||'''Modelling answers tsunami questions, AUSGEO News September 2006''' || http://www.ga.gov.au/ausgeonews/ausgeonews200609/modelling.jsp ||'''Parallelisation of a finite volume method for hydrodynamic inundation modelling, ANZIAM Journal, Vol 48 (2006)''' || http://www.sci.usq.edu.au/projects/ojs/index.php/ANZIAMJ/article/view/153 ||'''Simulation of Tsunami and Flash Floods March 2006''' || https://datamining.anu.edu.au/anuga/attachment/wiki/WikiStart/roberts_nielsen_jakeman_2006.pdf ||'''ANUGA software download (Since Dec 2006)''' ||http://sourceforge.net/projects/anuga == Coding Standards == ||'''Style Guide for Python (GA version of PEP 8)''' ||http://datamining.anu.edu.au/~ole/anuga/coding_standards/style_guide_for_python_code_GA_version.htm ||'''Docstring conventions for Python''' ||http://datamining.anu.edu.au/~ole/anuga/coding_standards/docstring_conventions_GA_version.htm
