This report is being provided to the Tasmania State Emergency Service
(TAS SES) as part of the Collaborative Research Agreement (CRA)
with Geoscience Australia (GA).
TAS SES has recognised the potential vulnerability of the Tasmanian
coastline to tsunami originating from earthquakes on
the Puysegur trench. To understand this vulnerability, the Tasmanian State
Government are seeking to understand the history of tsunami by undertaking
paleo-tsunami investigations. The aim of this work is to support these
investigations by modelling two specific tsunami-genic events to assess the
impact to South East Tasmania.

This report describes the modelling methodology and initial results
for two specific tsunami-genic events as it impacts the Hobart region
and its surrounds. In particular, maximum inundation maps are shown
and discussed for the event occurring at mean sea level.
